New Post Natal Group Exercise Class section closed section open

New Post Natal Group Exercise Class

We are pleased to announce that from next week we will be running a Post Natal group exercise class for mums and their babies in the gym.

We are pleased to announce that from next week we will be running a Post Natal group exercise class for mums and  their babies in the gym.

Following the birth of his daughter in February, our gym manager Ben realised how hard it was for Vic to exercise as she did before Beatrix arrived. Without arranging childcare it’s really hard for mums to continue to exercise as they did before and during their pregnancy.

The gym will close for one hour on a Thursday to allow the mums to receive expert post natal coaching, whilst their babies are with them.

“It is really important that we support mums to return to exercise. Not only is it great for them to get strong, but keeping their bodies moving will help with any of the aches and pains let over from pregnancy. Plus any exercise will help build self-confidence as they get their pre baby body back.”

Members and non-members can join our group. There is a limit of 10 mums per class, so booking is advised.

Busy September for The Nick Matthew Academy section closed section open

Busy September for The Nick Matthew Academy

It's been a busy month for the Nick Matthew Academy!

September was a busy month for the Nick Matthew Academy players. There has been a hive of activity at the club with the addition of several new professionals at the club working hard day in & day out with Nick and Neil.

With the new season beginning in earnest the players have been busy travelling all over the world playing PSA events. Harry Falconer has been in Hamburg & Moscow, Donna Lobban in China, Hong Kong & San Francisco, and Greg Lobban is currently competing at the US Open in Philadelphia; a tournament where Nick will also be in attendance. There is a plan to create a ‘Pro Board’ near Court 5 to update members on the performances of all of the professionals now based at the club.

It was fantastic to see the success of the season launch ‘Play the Pro’ night in early September. We have a strong 1st team this year and Nick will be available for 2 home matches in October; Wednesday 17th vs. Abbeydale & Wednesday 31st vs. Chapel Allerton. Both matches start at 7.40pm.

Lastly, we would like to take this opportunity to wish Charlotte Jagger the best of luck with her upcoming move to Baltimore. Charlotte will taking up a position with St. Paul’s school which will allow her the flexibility to pursue her professional career at the same time. Good luck Charlotte!

Happy squashing.
The NMA team
